Happy New Year!

Could I seriously be more behind on my blog?!?!? Happy New Year everyone! I can't believe that I can't write 2008 anymore! I love writing 8's more than any other number! Darn it!

I thought that I would share a picture of my kids being silly while getting their picture taken for Christmas. I can't believe that two of them are going to be graduating from college in May!

One of my New Year's resolutions is going to be keeping up with my blog more often. I read so many other people's blogs and pray for so many people but I don't keep up with my own!

My other New Year's resolution is to keep going to the gym and swimming at least every other day. I started doing it during the two week break and I am loving it! Since Ted and I are going on a cruise at the end of March, I better get myself in shape before we leave! :0)

There are lots of prayers that are needed right now for many people. Please keep them going for Abby, Stanton, Zachary, Annette, Caden, Jaxon, Regina, Ryan, and many, many others who are suffering from childhood cancer. There are many adults out there suffering as well; Lori, Carrie, Missy, and the multitude of others also.

I also follow blogs of families of multiples and we have a family out here in Austin who is getting ready to have quintuplets. Casey is getting very uncomfortable at this stage of pregnancy and could use some prayers also!

We are so blessed to be a part of this world and I do hope that each and every one of you will look around and see how really awesome it is! We may have some downfalls but it truly is a beautiful place to be!

Our Wacky Halloween!

I am posting this in orange because it goes with our wacky Halloween! Our family is notoriously known for our Halloween bashes every year in our church and neighborhood and this year was no exception. We normally have 600-800 trick-or-treaters but this year we had well over 1,000! What a zoo! We live in a cul-de-sac in a very family oriented neighborhood so we are in a perfect setting. Our church band comes out and sets up right in front of our house and we make our entire backyard a haunted trail. Our next door neighbor built a haunted tunnel throughout his backyard this year. His neighbor set up a booth in which they served hotdogs, Cokes, & chips through their church. We also served sausage wraps, popcorn, & body part punch. It was the craziest thing anyone can ever imagine. Ted and I have always loved serving the community and this is a way that we can do it. We have actually talked about stopping after this year because our children are older now and it is a lot of work getting it all set up and cleaning it up afterwards, but after getting approached from so many people in our neighborhood begging us not to stop, it looks like we will have to rethink it. I am still waiting for people to e-mail me pictures they took so I can post some of them. The picture that is posted is of me and Ted. Ted was Davy Jones from Pirates of the Carribean. He actually was hiding inside of our pond in the backyard scaring the living bejeebers out of everyone by popping out when people went by him! He smelled so wonderful when he got out of there! NOT!!!!!! That was really why I was trying to get away from him! Hee! Hee!

My First Blog!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited to finally start a blog! If anyone wants to know why my title is what it is, ask me and I will explain. I love to write and what better way to journal than to blog!
I absolutely love spending time with people and learning new things! I heard the funniest story from a really good friend of mine today. She had to go to her husband's grandfather's funeral last year and they took both of their kids with them. This included their two year old son, Thomas. Anyway, they were at the viewing when an older lady came up to Karen and asked her if Thomas was her son and Karen said, "Why, yes." "Well," said the lady. "You might want to go and check on him. He is up by the deceased." Karen was completely horrified as she ran up to the coffin to see that Thomas was feeding his deceased great-grandfather his mini M&M's. Karen said that there was chocolate all over Jay's grandfather's mouth and in the creases. She said that she grabbed a baby wipe and tried to wipe as much of it off as possible. She said that he also had candy smashed all in his lips. She went up to Jay and told him that they needed to leave right away. Jay was like, "Why?" "Um....just trust me...We need to leave." was Karen's response. She said that she was very happy when they had a closed casket ceremony!
